Message from the Superintendent

November 2019

The Oroville Union High School District has been working hard to create schools that the community can be proud of.  At both of our comprehensive high schools, we offer rigorous academics, competitive athletic teams, award winning arts and music programs, and excellent student clubs and activities.

In December, the State of California will release the California School Dashboard Indicators for every public school and district.  The Dashboard Indicators are the new accountability for schools and districts in California.  We are measured on Chronic Absenteeism, Suspension/Expulsion, Graduation Rate, College/Career Readiness and English Learner progress.  We will use our Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) process to develop strategies and actions to improve the indicators.

We will hold two LCAP stakeholder meetings. The first one will be on January 27, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Oroville High School library.  The second stakeholder meeting will be on February 25, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. in the Las Plumas High School library.  These meetings will give all interested parties the opportunity to review the data and provide input that will be used in the development of our LCAP.  We will send reminders closer to the stakeholder meetings.

As we work together to make the high schools in the Oroville Union High School District great places for kids to learn, please do not hesitate to contact me by telephone at (530)-538-2300 x 1107, or by email at cwillenb@ouhsd.org if you have questions, concerns and/or comments that I can assist you with.

Respectfully,

Dr. Corey Willenberg
Superintendent
