Hello everyone and welcome to Las Plumas High School!
I'm Dr. Lamar Collins, your proud principal! I'm excited to be here and am excited to help mentor, develop, and inspire our students to greatness. My wife (Rose) and I have 4 children. We have 3 adult daughters (Alexis, Alyssa, and Aliyah) and 1 son (TJ), who is a senior here at LP. I want you to know that I am here to support your students as they take this journey through high school.
My 3 main concerns are:
1. Safety: My primary responsibility is to ensure students are provided a safe and supported environment.
2. Success: I want to ensure every student is prepared for a post high school career. That could include college, the workforce, or the military. I want to provide them with the resources to be successful in whichever field they choose.
3. Systems: I want to establish and maintain systems that allow teachers and students to be the best version of themselves.
For me, being an educator is not a job, it is a calling. And I take my calling seriously. Here at Las Plumas our mission is to provide high levels of learning for all; that includes academic, social, and emotional learning. Please know that I am glad to be here, and I truly love your students.
