The previous Lifeline number, 1-800-273-TALK (8255), remains active and will continue to connect callers to crisis support services.

The Governing Board is committed to protecting the health, safety, and well-being of all students. Recognizing that suicide is a leading cause of death among youth, the District takes a proactive approach to suicide prevention.
This policy establishes procedures to help prevent suicide, identify and assess students who may be at risk, provide appropriate intervention and support, and respond effectively to suicide-related incidents. Through education, awareness, and collaboration with families and community partners, the District strives to create a safe and supportive environment where every student feels connected, valued, and supported.
