Testing

Ensuring readiness and equity through quality assessments

The Testing Department, a subdivision of Education Services, oversees the administration and coordination of all district-wide assessments—including state-mandated tests, college readiness exams, and diagnostic screeners. Our mission is to ensure equitable access for all students, provide valid testing accommodations, and offer comprehensive support to educators, students, and families before, during, and after each assessment. We maintain full compliance with state and federal mandates while leveraging assessment data to inform instruction and enhance student outcomes.

The main programs include:

  • ELPAC: Required English Language Proficiency Assessments (initial and annual) for English Learner identification and progress tracking

  • MAP Assessments: Adaptive curriculum-based measures used to identify students needing additional academic support or remediation

  • CAASPP/SBAC (Smarter Balanced): California’s statewide assessment for English Language Arts and math, with practice and teacher tools provided
