Funding and Grants

Fueling our mission: equitable, enriching, and future-focused learning opportunities.

At Oroville Union High School District (OUHSD), we strategically leverage a combination of state, federal, and targeted grant funding to ensure all students receive access to high-quality, equitable education. Central to this effort is California’s Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF)—enacted in 2013–14—which transformed the K–12 finance system by replacing over 50 fragmented categorical programs with a more streamlined and equity-driven model. LCFF provides base, supplemental, and concentration grants that enable us to direct resources where they are needed most, particularly for English Learners, foster youth, and students from low-income households.

In addition to LCFF, OUHSD actively pursues and manages specialized grant programs—such as federal Title funding, Career Technical Education (Perkins), and Proposition 28 Arts & Music grants—that amplify our ability to support academic growth, career readiness, and student well-being. Our dedicated grants team ensures each dollar is aligned with district goals, compliant with state/federal mandates, and used transparently to deliver meaningful outcomes for students.
