WASC Accreditation

WASC Action Plan

Oroville High School received a 6 year WASC accreditation in 2002.  The Accrediting Commission for Schools division of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges' (WASC) based our accreditation on Focus on Learning criteria. The WASC categories are systemic components that must focus on learning to achieve the expected school wide learning results (ESLRs).  In the 2001 - 2002 school year, five focus groups comprised of OHS teachers, student’s, staff, and parents, carefully conducted a self study on the status of OHS in the following areas:  Vision, Leadership and Culture; Curricular Paths; Powerful Teaching and Learning; Support for Student Personal and Academic Growth; Assessment and Accountability.  The focus groups designed an action plan for comprehensive schoolwide improvements and are actively continuing to work on implementing the plan.  We encourage parent and community participation in this ongoing process.
