Well, here’s a little information about myself. I moved to this area in 1990 from Monterey California to attend school at Butte College and the University of California Chico. At Butte College I received a degree in Associates of Arts in Social Science. Later I transferred to Chico State University where I received a degree in Political Science with an emphasis on Law (participating in a Paralegal Intern, Mediation Intern and Small Claims Court Intern).

After graduation I worked at Butte County Juvenile Hall as a Counselor for one year and worked for two local attorneys as a Paralegal. While working at the Juvenile Hall it became clear to me that there are many kids in our county who need help from adults who care and who can be good examples. Young people need encouragement from adults to succeed in life’s struggles, and to make good choices. At that point it was clear to me that I wanted to be a teacher.

When I returned to Chico state I studied History and Geography for two semesters and enrolled into the Teaching Credential Program for one year. After completing the program I was a substitute teacher in Chico and in Oroville. In two thousand and one I was hired at Oroville Union High School District and placed at Las Plumas high school. I have worked at Las Plumas since and have taught Economics, US History, Health, Drivers Education, and Geography. Las Plumas is the best high school, the student body and staff here aregreat to work with and my plan is to work here until I retire.
