Diane Handley

Biography

Hello, I am Mrs. Handley, the School Counselor for students with last names beginning with S-Z grades 9-12. I help students with their academic planning and progress, career and college interests, and personal issues as needed.

Many students see me by requesting an appointment or they walk in before and after school and during break in the Counseling office. For emergencies and crisis intervention all the counselors are available immediately for students.

Some of my responsibilities include coordinating college application previews and college representative visitations for students in the fall. Then in the spring along with registration I organize interviews for leadership opportunities and act as a liaison with community organizations and their activities for students.

Counselors have a calendar of events though out the school year and enjoy visiting core classes to provide information about testing, academic planning and college admission updates so students stay informed about opportunities available to them.

We also direct students and parents on a regular basis to our school website at www.ouhsd.org/lphs/ so they can read the daily bulletin, sign up for college entrance exams, learn about what is happening for students at Las Plumas High School and e-mail staff with questions or concerns.

I am also happy to assist parents with their questions and concerns to promote student success.
