I was born in North Hollywood, CA and
lived in the Southern California area until Junior High. I then moved
to the small town (population: 3000) of Mt. Shasta City, CA and spent
summers visiting my Dad in Chicago. After graduating from Mt. Shasta High
School, I attended California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
Finding that a bit expensive, I went the junior college route; attending
both College of the Siskiyous and the illustrious Butte College. Chico
State was my final choice for my BA in English and English teaching
credential. I did my student teaching at Chico High School with the
master teacher, Zack Kincheloe.
My professional teaching career began at
Las Plumas High School in Oroville, CA in 1999. I have taught English
10, English 11, Power Reading, Sophomore Honors English, and am currently
the co-department chair of the English Department.
I currently teach Sophomore
Honors English, English 11, and Senior AP English.
My interests and hobbies include hiking,
river rafting, disc golf, racquetball, movies, books (of course), live music
(all kinds), and, most of all, travel.
