Bill Caspers

Art Teacher at Las Plumas High School since 1981

Ever since I was a very young age, I have been drawn to teaching and art. It is as if I always knew that I would be an art teacher. I started my training by obtaining an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from Foothill College, a community college in Los Altos, California. From Foothill, I transferred to the University of California, Santa Cruz, where I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Studio Arts. After UCSC, I went to San Francisco State University to earn a Teaching Credential.

It was a few years later that I found myself moving to Oroville, California to begin my career as an art teacher at Las Plumas High School. It’s hard to believe that I have been teaching at LPHS for over 25 years. Over this time, I have also enjoyed watching my four children grow up, traveled internationally on numerous occasions, taken-up the bagpipes, played and coached a soccer game or two, planted a huge variety of bamboo, and completed a Master of Fine Arts Degree at California State University, Chico. I could not have done any of this without the love and support of my wife of 33 years, Deborah Jean.
