Mrs. Earley

Mrs. Earley

Hi, my name is Andree’ (pronounced Andrea) Earley.  I grew up in nearby Loma Rica and attended Marysville High School.  I showed Limousin Cattle extensively in California and hauled cattle as far away as Illinois growing up. I attained a love for cattle and other animals while spending so much time at these shows.   I attended Yuba Community College and transferred to CSU, Chico.  I majored in Agriculture with an option in Animal Science with no idea of what I wanted to do when I grew up the day I graduated.  A one year agriculture teaching position came open at Sierra Junior College while the teacher was on a sabbatical so I took that.  I thoroughly enjoyed teaching at the Junior College level yet as that job ended an opportunity to do research at CSU, Chico College of Agriculture came open.  I researched making compost out of rice straw and dairy manure.  I was also able to assist Dr. Cindy Daley with the cloning and embryo transfer research being done at the time.   I decided at that time to start working on my teaching credential.  I received a credential in Agriculture at the completion of my Student Teaching at Las Plumas High School in the fall of 2002.  I taught Agriculture (Ag Biology, Ag Life Science, Animal Science and Ornamental Horticulture) at Lindhurst High School for 3 and ˝ years. I earned my Master’s Degree in Agriculture Education during the summers and graduated in December of 2005.  I started teaching at Las Plumas High School in the fall of 2006 and thoroughly enjoy the students.  I am the advisor for Cattle, Swine and Chickens for the Silver Dollar Fair and Butte County Fair.  This requires many hours in the evenings and weekends working with students on their projects.

When I am not busy with my school kids, I like to spend time with my husband Sean.  We met at CSU, Chico and married in September 2000.  We have three dogs:

Jes is a Black and White Border Collie that I have had since graduating form High School.  Maggie is Jes’s daughter and is a Red and White Border Collie – both of the border collies love to do any ranch work that is available to them.

Ruby is my husband’s super hunting dog.  He often refers to him as the best present that I ever got for him.  We have Red Angus cattle that we raise bulls out of and also run a few commercial cows.  I enjoy time spent with the cattle and also enjoy riding my two quarter horses.  I also enjoy spending time and doing things with my family.
