Times closes in on the April issue
April always seems to be the most stressful month for the LP Times staff. Spring Break limits our writing and layout time. Although with less time than usual, the staff is working together to send this April issue to the printers. The April issue marks our sixth issue of the year. Look for the paper to come out in late April. Enjoy the paper because the staff has put a lot of hard work and time into it. If there are any suggestions or comments, feel free to drop them off in Bret Lawson's room (609) in the comment box. This includes any story that you'd like the staff to write about. Just remember that the final decision on stories comes down to the editors. Editors choose stories based on time/date and whether or not it's newsworthy. These suggestions will be taken into consideration and inputed into the May issue (our last issue of the year)!
Brett Lawson signs on as new Advisor The Las Plumas Times is a student-run publication. Students come up with ideas for the stories, write them, and edit them. They put this newspaper together. This year we have a great crew of dedicated journalists, both experienced and novice, working to create a paper that will genuinely enhance our school enviornment. Because this newspaper serves our entire school and community, we try to brainstorm stories that cover all areas. However, we still need ideas and feeback to do our job better, so please let us know what you would like to see in your paper, and where we can improve. I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Linda Draper for her invaluable help and advice as I took on this new challenge. Without her, and without the hard work of our staff, we would'nt have a newspaper. We hope that this publication will continue to do well like it has in the past. |
