| Throughout
the state of California and the United States, many are working to
promote the good work happening at charter schools. Unfortunately,
much of the "good news" falls on deaf ears. In the last
few years, several pieces of legislation have been passed in California
that have limited a charter school's flexibility and ability to provide
options. Charter schools can no longer afford to be "the best
kept secret in the world of education."
In order for charter
schools like Challenge Charter to grow, improve and flourish,
we need parents and community members to become actively involved
in promoting our school and others like us. Listed below are just
a few of the links to websites which focus on charter schools. Most
of them offer a list serve option that allows you to be connected
to the world of charters. Please take some time to review these
sites, sign up if you are interested and find out more about the
great work of charter schools in California and the United States!
The principal at Challenge
Charter is available to provide a PowerPoint presentation for
local service and community groups. The presentation focuses on
charter schools in general and specifically the story of Challenge
Charter. If you belong to a service club or group, please call
Walt Gess at (530) 538-2359 or email
wgess@ouhsd.org
regarding a presentation.
