Mission and Value Statement
Challenge Charter High School will provide expanded opportunities for student growth in three challenge areas: Educational Challenge, Personal Challenge, and Social Challenge. Development of these goals will aid students' unique needs toward becoming complex thinkers and self-directed learners who are quality producers contributing to the community.
Challenge Charter High School is a public high school offering an independent study option for students who prefer work independently or in small groups. The majority of the curriculum is mastered through and independent study process but augmented with small group classes.
The requirements for graduation are the same requirements for students who graduate from the other comprehensive high schools in the Oroville Union High School District. Students are required to complete a core list of classes which include a total of 220 credits. Graduates earn a regular high school diploma. Students are required to participate in the California Standardized Testing and Reporting system (SAT9), and beginning with the class of 2004, students will be required to pass the California High School Exit Exam.
Challenge Charter High School offers special programs such as the AVID program designed to help students the skills necessary for college, Concurrent enrollment in Butte Community College, Vocational Courses, and Remedial programs.
